Oman Fiber Optic Company (OFO) commenced commercial manufacture of Optical fiber cables in early 1999. The factory is also equipped with fiber draw towers and captive fiber draw started in the Year 2000. OFO uses loose tube cable manufacturing technology, and is planning to expand production range to ribbon fiber cables and unitube cables. OFO can produce upto 144 fiber cables, for Duct, Direct Burial and Aerial applications.
The plant is ISO 9001 certified by RWTUV of Germany, and the entire range of cabling machinery is from Nextrom of Finland.
OFO has executed cable supplies for Siemens AG of Germany, Marconi of Uk, Ericsson, Anixter, Nexans, the distribution network in USA and leading PTTs in the Middle East.
