Electric is one of the world's premier connector manufacturers. Founded
in Japan in 1937, Hirose has grown into a multi-national organization,
with operations through out Asia, North America and Europe. The company
is listed on the first page of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Sales in
FY 1996 (to March 31, 1997) totaled 67.5 billion yen (563 million dollars
at 120 Yen ÿ 1.00), thus placing Hirose in the world's top 10 connector
manufacturers.
Hirose Electric is a manufacturer specializing
in connectors for electronic equipment. The company's client base
includes major domestic and international firms, operating in a wide variety
of fields. These include manufactures of computer and communications
equipment, instrumentation, factory and office automation equipment, and
consumer electronics firms. Hirose Electric produces a gamut of high-quality
connectors relating to every conceivable type of application. The
main range consists of multi-pin connectors. These come in a multitude
of varieties: circular, rectangular, ribbon cable, printed circuit board(PCB),
integrated circuit (IC), PC Card, and nylon board to board connectors.
High-performance coaxial and optical fiber connectors form the second principal
product range. These are used in a diverse range of microwave and
other high-frequency signal applications. The company also manufactures
various specialized devices and instruments.
